Hamilton Eyes on Formula 1 title back

Lewis Hamilton has warned Jenson Button: "You only have the title on loan."

Hamilton has every intention of grabbing back the Formula One crown from Button he won in Brazil a year ago.

Remarkably, for the second year in succession an Englishman driving car number 22 and powered by a Mercedes engine has won the title at Interlagos after finishing fifth in the Brazilian Grand prix.

Last season it was Hamilton in his McLaren, this season Button in a Brawn GP, giving Britain back-to-back world champions for the first time in 40 years.

Hamilton, who finished a stunning third from 17th on the grid, was gracious in acknowledging Button's performance over the season.

"He did an incredible job this year," said Hamilton, who has scored more points in the last seven races than any other driver following a wretched start to the season.

"He has handled the pressure, which has been extremely immense for him these last few races.

"I saw today, whilst he was trying to keep a cool exterior, I knew exactly what he was going through.

"I said to him 'You don't have to win this race, you just have to keep your cool,' and clearly he did.

"So I'm very, very happy for him and his family, and it's great for the sport, great for the British fans.

"I'm sure the fans back home are extremely happy to have a world champion two years in a row. I can only assume they're very proud."

Despite that, Hamilton added: "I'm not going to take anything away from his championship but I definitely plan on taking it back from him at some stage."
